Full course description
Patients and families with limited English profiency (LEP) face barriers to healthcare service access, experience lower quality of care, and suffer worse health outcomes. LEP is an independent driver of health disparities and exacerbates other social determinants of health.
That is why Emory Nursing is partnering with Canopy to bring you the Canopy Credential™ Bilingual Medical Proficiency Assessments at a discounted rate. Through this partnership, Emory Nursing and Canopy intend to work together to raise awareness in the healthcare community about the communication barrier, to equip frontline nurses and administrative professionals alike with highly effective tools, and to ultimately elevate the quality of care for the underserved communities.
Canopy Credential™ is the first-ever standardized assessment to measure bilingual language (medical English & medical Spanish) proficiency and certify the bilingual healthcare provider. It is specifically designed to assist healthcare systems in qualifying bilingual medical staff to be compliant with Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.
